Sleep-wake and Neurodegeneration

Description
We are looking for reinforcement in our team working on sleep-wake regulation in idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder (iRBD), a condition considered a prodromal stage of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia with Lewy bodies. A clinical research project is conducted by Dr. med. Carolin Schäfer (PI).
The main task involves contributing to the completion and organization of our research database. Depending on interest and background, the project can expand to include state of the art processing of signals recorded from the body (e.g., EEG, ECG, actigraphy).
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in clinical sleep neuroscience and to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team at the Sleep-Wake Epilepsy Center of Inselspital.
We welcome applications from motivated Master’s or Doctoral students (Dr.med.) with an interest in sleep, neurodegeneration, and data-driven neuroscience.

Supervisor: Dr. med. Carolin Schäfer

Department: Department of Neurology, Inselspital Bern
